Puerto De Soller, Majorca (Mallorca), Balearic Islands, SpainIntroSet on a perfectly rounded bay, Puerto de Soller nestles at the foot of the Sierra de Tramontana hills, surrounded by groves of lemon and orange trees. Once a bustling textile centre it is now an extremely agreeable resort with a lot of traditional charm of a charming fishing village.
Music bars and shows are laid on by the hotels and the picturesque cove of La Calobra nearby is an occasional setting for summer-time concerts.
The Red Train and TramPuerto Soller is famous for it's day trippers from Palma, the Capital who come on the ancient Red Train to Soller then continue on the tram to Puerto Soller. Most then carry on there journey with the boat trip to Sa Calobra. for a couple of hours before returning Beaches and SightseeingNarrow sandy beaches along the bay shelve gently into calm, clear waters. Excellent for scuba-diving and a number of other watersports.

Local Cuisine & Evenings OutRelaxed, informal nightlife with a good choice of bars and restaurants, especially along the promenade, or take the tram into Soller. A local speciality is 'Calamares en su tinta', squid cooked in its own ink. Interesting for its jet black colour, it is usually served with white rice and is ideally accompanied by a bottle of wine from the Binissalem vineyards.
Local interestDrive into the hills for a breathtaking journey with heart-stopping hairpin bends to the Col de Soller for truly spectacular views. Visit the Gardens of Alfabia, a grand country mansion surrounded by ornamental gardens. Enjoy the dramatic coastal scenery by boat.
Shopping and MarketsThere is a lively market in Soller on Saturday mornings and plenty to tempt you in the shops, especially locally produced textiles. Enjoy the train ride to Palma for more cosmopolitan shopping.
TransportTransfer time is about 1 hour. A tram line links Puerto de Soller and Soller, with a rail link to Palma. For more independent sightseeing take advantage of our car rental.
