Situated on the north coast of the island, the pretty town of Cala San Vicente manages to keep a relaxed atmosphere and local charm. Well-kept villas, Spanish homes, a church and a good selection of restaurants are all just a stone's throw from the golden shores. The resort prides itself on a spectacular blend of rural and coastal scenery, with the cliffs of the Formentor Peninsula providing the backdrop for the bay.

Beaches

The main Cala Barques beach is the prettiest of the three bays on offer. Blessed by beautifully clear waters, and stunning scenery this is a great place to relax and unwind. Cala Clara is a more secluded bay, just the other side of a rocky knoll. Take a trip around the towering headland, and you'll find a third beach waiting to welcome you to a world of tranquillity.

Shopping

All of the basics and souvenirs can be found in Cala San Vicente, but if shopping is an essential part of your holiday, take time out to visit the old town of Pollensa. Here you will find an extensive range of shops selling traditional pottery and contemporary ceramics.

Nightlife

Evenings are spent enjoying a meal at one of the local restaurants, or a quiet drink overlooking the bay. Nightlife here is very low key, but if you are seeking a lively night on the town, Alcudia is only a short journey away.

Local Specialities

The beachside restaurants serve international cuisine alongside local favourites. Try 'sobrassada' - spicy sausage, followed by 'ensaimada' - spiral-shaped, sweet pastry for a true taste of Majorca.
