The resort of Camp de Mar is located on the western side of Majorca and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the Balearics. Although expanding, the resort still remains very much unspoilt with a quiet, sheltered beach of golden sand and stunning coastal scenery backed by fragrant pine woods. Keen walkers will revel in the resort's natural beauty while sun worshippers will enjoy relaxing on the beach. Nightlife here is limited with a handful of restaurants and bars.

Camp de Mar has its own sheltered, sandy beach and is generally quiet throughout the year. The neighbouring resort of Santa Ponsa boasts an expanse of white sands, edged by palms and a wide promenade. The beach has been extended making it popular and it can get busy but it does offer a wide range of watersports and a host of activities such as tennis, golf and bicycle hire.

You'll find a handful of souvenir shops and several mini-markets in Camp de Mar. For a wider variety of shops, Paguera is just over 5km away.

Evening entertainment in Camp de Mar is generally centred around the hotels with only a handful of bars in the resort. For a more lively atmosphere head for Santa Ponsa, just 10km away, which has discos, clubs, restaurants and plenty of Irish bars. Camp de Mar is also just 8km from Magaluf, with its wealth of English pubs and cocktail bars, it's claimed as one of the most vibrant resorts in Spain.

Local Specialities

There are just four or five eating establishments in Camp de Mar, all of which vie for the tourist trade by offering tempting menus featuring traditional Majorcan cuisine and common international dishes. Fresh fish is popular and excellent, specialities include seabass and lobster.
